The Post Mortems are Devin Alexander on vocals and bass and Al Raymond on drums. They've been compared to The Doors, Death From Above 1979, and Jeff Buckley. They specialize in a rare form of live performance that combines dark songs with uncontainable energy and an engagement with the audience most bands cannot aspire to.
The Post Mortems were born from a need to sift through the evidence surrounding the death of their youth. Scraps of pictures, loves notes to crushes long forgotten, old Hi8 camcorder footage, bits of metal from abandoned hospitals, shattered glass -- all thrown out the window and allowed to mingle mid-air and make friends before crashing hard into the earth. Bass, drums, vocals: it all comes together with a loud BANG and a soft melody.
